We’re excited to announce the launch of SphereLab 2.0, almost exactly 4 years after the original SphereLab 1.0 went live (November 23rd, 2006). The original site was cute and had a neat interactive “composer” where the user could visually design a unique constellation of Spheres designs… but it never worked as a proper e-commerce site.

SphereLab 1.0—the original site

The old site relied on Flash, only took PayPal, and needed dozens of extra clicks to buy anything or even figure out a cost. It wasn’t really meant to be a full e-commerce site—just a supplement to Matthew Haggett’s designs which were licensed elsewhere at the time.

We’re happy to unveil the new SphereLab, a fully functional pair of integrated sites—WordPress drives the general information pages & blog, a Volusion store handles the products, shopping cart, and sales. We’ve been working on it through the fall of 2010 and have it running beautifully.

We’re going to be adding new products regularly and updating the site as time passes. We’d love to hear your feedback. Something not working right? A typo or broken link? Suggestions for new products you’d like to see? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us!
